Mission of the Disability Services Office
The Disability Services Office was established at Nagoya University in accordance with the "Disability Discrimination Elimination Act" which came into force in April 2016 to accommodate disabled students and university facility users in an appropriate and reasonable manner. The mission of the Disability Services Office is to promote the elimination of discrimination on grounds of disability by planning and providing appropriate and reasonable accommodations and support for disabled persons, pursuant to the "Nagoya University Guidelines for Measures Regarding the Promotion of Elimination of Discrimination on the Grounds of Disability". The Office will take the following action:
- 1. Draft plans for providing reasonable accommodation for disabled students and university facility users.
- 2. Plan, propose, implement, and make adjustments for the promotion of the elimination of discrimination on grounds of disability.
- 3. Respond to consultation, etc. regarding the discrimination on grounds of disability by our university faculty and staff members.
- 4. 4. Engage in awareness campaigns, etc. for the promotion of the elimination of discrimination on grounds of disability.
Although much work remains to be done, the Disability Services Office strives to help create an environment where all of us on campus are able to receive the educational and research opportunities afforded by Nagoya University without experiencing any discrimination on grounds of disability.
